The th Dimension

I imagine that examples of 4D phenomena in our world would
undermine our everyday conventions of "reality" -

Solid objects might melt : warp : pass through each other :
change appearance as we moved around it: (installation)

20th Century artists (Duchamp, Braque, Boccioni) explored
and were inspired by the idea of a fourth dimension
..(20thC manifesto)

In the same manner as a three dimensional object can be seen as a two dimensional shadow,
a four dimensional object may be perceived as a three dimensional projection.

The notion of a fourth dimension, inspired the 20thC artist Marcel Duchamp,
challenging traditional conventions of art, via readymades, conceptual art,
and perhaps even a futuristic glimpse of VR with the installation:"given the illuminated gas"..

The Bride Stripped Bare By Her Bachelors Even, or The Large Glass
exemplifies Duchamp's interest in the interrelationship of multiple dimensions.

Developers of Virtual reality tend to simulate an everyday view of reality..
I see the 4D as inspirational in challenging this approach..
encapsulated by the concept of Dynamic Form

Is time   the fourth dimension? (popular H.G.Wells Time Machine view)

Or
a dimension perpendicular to our three dimensions x,y and z?

An imaginary axis/plane/space.
